Day 1 - Which college was your number one
choice? Are you going to that school? If not, how did you handle the rejection?
If so, is it everything you always thought it would be?
·
My
Number one college to go to was the University of Dayton. I did go there for two years. Alas due to personal and financial reasons I
was unable to go there after my sophomore year.
Day 2 - What school do you go to? What is
something that makes your school unique, or that makes the school special to
you?
·
Right
now I am attending a local college still majoring in chemical engineering. Something that makes my school unique is that
it is a commuter school, and it has been structured in such a way so that you
do not have to go outside to get from one class to another.
Day 3 - If you live away from home, share your
moving day experience. If you commute, do you feel like you are missing out on
a true college experience?
·
When I
lived away from home, moving day my freshman year went very smoothly. Which… I have to thank my mother for. But don’t tell her that. She made these address labels for me, and
labeled all the boxes and things of mine so that when the crew who helped the
freshman move into their dorm wouldn’t get my things confused with someone else’s
stuff. It worked out for the best. Apparently one of the people almost took my
things to another room. But when I moved into a room, initially we rearranged
the room then we made my bed. Then you
can put things on the bed and find a place for everything.
·
Now That
I commute, I miss out on the sense of community that living with your peers offers. Doing homework with your friends just makes
it so much more enjoyable. I also miss
out on the camaraderie and spur of the moment adventures.
Day 4 - Describe the best party experience you’ve
had so far.
·
Hanging
out with my sorority sisters would definitely be the best party experiences I
have had so far. I know it isn’t
just one, but gosh. It’s
just always so much fun.
Day 5 - Who is the best friend you’ve
met at college? How did you meet and what sort of adventures have you had?
·
I have
a toss up between two people. I consider
both of them to be my best friend.
·
First,
there is Mara. We met second semester of
college, maybe in our autocad class. I
think we were in that and Calc 2 together.
Then we rushed Phi Rho (the sorority that we are both now in!) and we
were both inducted into the blue family.
I think that helped make us closer.
Through Phi Rho we have done many a thing and went to many a party. Many of the memorable. We went and took pictures in the snow. That was something fun, and I think our first
real adventure? Who knows for sure. All that matters is that we are friends
now.
·
Secondly,
there is Matt. We also met the second
semester of college. We had Physics !
together with this hilarious professor.
One day while walking back up to our dorm (we lived in the same dorm -
he on the ground floor, I on the fifth) I think Ishani was walking with us too… Someone else was there. I know that much.
Probably Taylor. Taylor. Final answer.
But we ended up talking about snow men and some of his floor-mates were
making them and we dropped off our bookbags in his room and went and made some.
Other adventures include driving
someone, hanging out in his dorm/house, parties, drinking. College stuff.
Day 6 - If you live in the dorms, tell us about
your roommates/floormates.
· I do not currently
live in the dorms. And I am ok with
this. Dorms have a lot of rules and can
be socially annoying.
Day 7 - What is your field of study? How did you
come to this decision, and how many times have you changed your mind?
·
I chose
to study Chemical Engineering.
·
I
chose this because I have always loved science and mathematics. Logic problems were what I liked to do in my
free timed (I still like to do logic problems, like Sudoku). It seemed like the perfect fit!
·
I have
not changed my mind since I decided it early on in high school. I have had
doubts, but never seriously considered changing.
Day 8 - How many years have you been in college? How many more years until you complete it?
·
This is
my fourth year of college, and I should be graduating in five years, if all
goes according to plan.
Day 9 - Post a picture of your college.
·
Nah. Sorry friends!
Day 10 - What has been your favorite class to
take, and what made it so fascinating?
·
I don't know what course has been my favorite.... I can't choose. So many things I have learned.... I suppose I just won't choose. :D
Day 11 - If your college has sports teams, which
sport is the most respected? Have they ever won a championship?
·
At
Dayton they had a basketball team, which was beloved and most cames the house was full. The men's have won the NIT. They did get into the second round of the NCAA, alas they have not won a title for a while.
Day 12 - Which clubs and teams are you a member
of? Do you remember how you got involved with these clubs?
· Currently I am
involved in only involved in AIChE (the
American Institute of Chemical Engineers) and the Joint Engineering
Council. I got involved with AIChE by
talking to our department’s secretary and she got me in contact with
the president of the organization and I just jumped right in. I got involved with JEC because of the guy I
dated. His friend is the president of
it, and now we are friends even after not being with that stupid boy.
Day 13 - Is there anything that you imagined
would happen in college, but now that you’re in college you realize that you were
totally wrong?
·
No.
Well. I did imagine that my freshman
roommate would have been better and that we would have been better
friends. But that was wrong. That doesn’t happen to all roommates.
We ended up coexisting. She
thought we were friends.
Day 14 - Which kinds of students are the most
annoying to be in a class with?
· Hands down, the know it alls. perfect example: Last Physical chemistry class, this kid... we shall call him E. We were learning about a theory that describes how its so hard to calcualte when things happen on the atomic level. And we were told we can never truly figure out what a particles velocity was due to how hard it is to measure. When it hits another particle, everything changes. that is the way physics works. But this kid... E asks "why can't we just subtract the known from the one we measure." wow. Thank you E. None of the other scientists who have devoted their careers to figuring this out could not have thought of this. Subtraction???!!?!?!? Thank you E for solving this problem. I don't know what we would do without you. So that is the kind of kid that I find to be most annoying in class.
Day 15 - Share about the first boy/girl you’ve
had a crush on since being in college. Where did you first see them? Where did
you first talk to them? Did you date?
·
Gosh. I have had a couple crushes. my first serious one was a guy name Josh. I met him through his good friend, who apparently had a crush on him because eventually they ended up dating and hooking up. When I liked him. So that was super cool. We first met in a dining room, I think, when we both chose to sit with our mutual friend. And no, we never did date. though we did hang out. He was kind of an odd duck in retrospect.
Day 16 - What are your favorite things to do,
when you aren’t in class or studying? (sports games,
parties, etc.?)
·
I enjoy hanging out with friends. It is nice to just do whatever and have fun. So I suppose having fun would be the qualifier? Drinking is also a fun thing to do when i am not in class or studying. Or while in class or studying. ; )
Day 17 - Show us a picture of your favorite place
to hang out around campus.
·
Sorry. I will not.
Day 18 - What do you do during holiday breaks?
·
I live at my house, and I continue living here. I also hang out with friends and relax. This past break I ended up going to school and working out.
Day 19 - What has been the toughest class you’ve
taken so far? Are there any classes that you are not looking forward to?
·
Gosh. Any of my chemical engineering courses have been hard. I can't decide which one was the hardest...nor have I taken all the courses.
Day 20 - Tell us about your favorite professor.
·
I don't like determining which professor is my favorite
Day 21 - Tell us about your least favorite
professor.
·
My least favorite professor was my first one who taught economics. He tried to have the course be based on excel, but it took him forever to set up the computer (about 7 minutes) and even longer to operate the program. I learned next to nothing in that course.
Day 22 - Post a picture of yourself that
encapsulates your college experience so far.
·
No thanks. No Pics.
Day 23 - Tell us about something
interesting/funny that’s happened during class.
· Sometimes
interacting with other students is amusing.
Usually heckling our peers is what is amusing. Although, one student kind of collapsed
during a presentation. So that is often
remembered and joked about.
Day 24 - Which did you enjoy more: high school or
college?
·
I
definitely enjoy college a whole lot more. I have formed close relatioinships and Class and everything is
just so much more fun.
Day 25 - What is something non-academic that you’ve
learned at college?
·
Be
honest and true to your word. That helps
when interacting with people and life in general.
Day 26 - Tell us about your worst experience from
your college years.
·
The
worst experience… would either
have to be when I had to transfer colleges or when my Dad had cancer. The transfer worked out for the best, but
wasn’t what I had
planned. Which is upsetting, naturally.
My father having cancer was terrible. But
I learned a lot and experienced so many things that helped broaden my horizon.
Day 27 - Did any of your high school friends go
to the same college as you? If not, do you still talk to your old high school
friends?
·
When I
went to Dayton, my one friend Ishani went there for a year. We were friends. Didn’t
live together. But we were friends. Now none of my high school friend go to my
college. I do still keep in contact with
a few of my high school friends. It’s
pretty nice. Good enough to keep track of.
Day 28 - Tell us about the most interesting
person you have encountered at school or around campus.
·
Gosh,
going to a school that is in the middle of a city tends to lead to a lot of
opportunities to meet interesting people.
Haha…
Day 29 - What are your favorite and least favorite things
about college?
·
My
favorite thing by far is the friendships and comradery that have
developed.
·
My
least favorite part is by far the tests and homework. They are the worst. But doing it with others makes it so much
better.
·
·
