I am not an Object.

I do not enjoy getting catcalled.

I do not want to be called "baby" when  I walk down the street.

I do not deserve to have to feel uncomfortable when I am just walking minding my own business and I get repeatedly called on by two guys to come up with them and drink.

I do not deserve to have sexual comments made about me by two complete strangers.

I do not desire to hear how some guy who has seen me for 2 seconds wants me.

I do not know you.

Why would I want to drink a beer with you?

Who are you?

Why would you want to invite me up there to drink with you?

I am overweight, I don't look that pretty, I'm not desirable by today's standards.

I'm just the only one out walking on the road at 11:30 that night.

So when I ignore you because as a lone female walking at night, when you're making sexual comments and offering me alcohol, I have every right to ignore you.

You seem preditory.

Out to get me.

You seem to be a safety hazard.

I do not deserve to be called a bitch when I feel very uncomfortable by everything you've done and I have not been given the opportunity to say hi back.

This article, by Anne Gus from Thought Catalog, in her 5th point is why a a lot of guys become undatable - at least in this girls humble opinion.

What is Poking all About Anyways?

On facebook you can poke another person.  To which I would like to inquire as to the purpose of when one pokes another person, using facebook.

I know when I poke Mara, it's just no big deal. We're just goofing around.
But when my ex, aka, the Boy pokes me - I just have no clue what is going on in his head.  Before we started to date, this is how he began to flirt.  This past Sunday was his birthday, and he decided that his birthday was the ideal day to poke me.  So naturally I was wondering what should I do?  I wasn't planning on wishing him a happy birthday.  I wasn't ready for that.  But he initiated contact with me.  So I texted him, 'Hey. Hope you're having a good Birthday!'  He never responded.  Naturally that annoyed me. Why don't you respond to me?  You're the one who initiated contact today.  Why do you not text me back????
So I decided to poke him back, and then messaged him, "hey! Hope you're having a good Birthday!"  That's two exclamation marks.  So much more exciting.  haha.  But he eventually said 'thanks' to it.   I decided that was an inadequate response. In hopes of making him feel awkward and try to force him to start a conversation, I said 'No Trouble.'  Sadly that tactic did not work.  he did not talk to me the rest of the evening.
Monday Morning he began poking me.  Naturally I cannot let him win.  So I kept poking him back. Because he cannot win.  But what if this is him flirting with me again?  I cannot date him again.  Well.  I Shouldn't.  I am tired of being alone though.  And he is so nice... and comfy.  And fun.And I miss making out with him. It was fun. BUT, lets be reasonable here.  Religion, well better stated, his lack of religion is a serious issue for me.  And I don't think he is comfortable with me having faith. That isn't a great equation fora goodlong relationship.
Silly logic.

First Kisses

When I kiss my crush for the first time:

Expectation:

 Reality:
 via #whatshouldbetchescallme

This is true.  First kisses are imagined to be so hot, and sexy.  But they end up being awkward.
My last first kiss I ended up kind of running away due to almost being late to my course.

I thought he was going to hug me, but turns out he was going in for a kiss.  I only realized this once our heads had passed and my arms were around him.  That was semi awkward.  But life goes on.

Stupid Boy.

So I, like any other college student, am on Facebook.  And on the side of Facebook they have those lovely little ads that say so and so is using a certain a certain app, or likes a certain product.  Lately one ad in particular has been showing up.  I have modified it to respect the boy’s privacy.  As you will be able to tell if you are familiar with the product why I am so annoyed when I see it.

He has been using Zoosk (click here for the link to the Zoosk website) lately, or so I have derived due to the ad constantly popping up.  And they pop up when someone recently likes them.  And well.  He is my only friend who has ‘liked’ said product.  And it has only recently been showing.  Aka after he broke up with me. (if you want the story of how he broke up with me,  click here)    So after seriously debating asking him to change his security settings, I figured out you can hide certain ads.  And I disabled the Zoosk one.  When you click on the disable button, there is a survey that shows, this one in fact:
And you can see the last few words I typed.  Well.  That was the first thing I actively did that was semi-childish about the breakup.  Which is not that large of a childish action because it is probably anonymous and never will be read.  But this is the whole paragraph I wrote to whomever reads the other reasons as to why I unsubscribed to that ad:

I do not wish to see that my ex boyfriend who broke up with me because he is "too busy" is suddenly using this dating app, zoosk.  And having to see he is using it all the time (it is usually the ad that pops up when I am doing something on facebook) is most upsetting.  Did I mention he broke up with me by changing his facebook status to single without talking to me first?  oh, I didn't?  well.  There we go.  So I don't mind seeing other people using it.  I just do not wish to see that The Boy  is using it [facebook username: I wrote his username here].  So this is why I wish not to see this ad, my bad, sponsored story about him.

So this is my ranting about the ridiculousness that is this stupid boy.  Thank you for taking the time to read this.  And I hope you found it mildly amusing or something positive.

I Want You This Close

via here

I realized after my relationship with my ex was over, he never actually hugged me. Yeah we cuddled and were close.  But never did he ever actually hug me.  And I love hugs.  They're one of my favorite things.  Being close to someone.  And just the warmth and love.

There was a study done, and it states that if you hug another person for 20 seconds, it releases some hormone that makes you and the other person feel good and creates a positive interaction between the two.

Purpose of this post:  I love hugs.  Please, next time you see me feel free to hug me.  I won't think it is awkward.  And I promise to warmly return it.

If I Were a *itch...

I would say all the mean things that comes to mind.

My ex posted a status saying how bored he was, and confirming his suspicions that there is thing to do in the suburbs.

Clever me automatically thought, "If you had a girlfriend you wouldn't be bored.  Too bad you decided to break up with her because you were going to be too busy. Oh wait..."

That would be pretty awesome.  Alas.

Additionally he posted how he was' looking forward to starting classes again... what's wrong with me???'

A great answer to that:  what is wrong with you?  Well, you thought it would be ok to break up with your girlfriend by changing your facebook relationship status.  Because that means something is very wrong with you.

And that is my venting for now.   Just thought I would share my *itchy thoughts.

It Could Always Be Worse.

So I am Single.  And the  way in which I was broken up was kind of a shitty way.  My mild manner friends have even called him a dick for doing it in the manner in which he did.  You can read all about it here this is the second volume.  And reasons why I am content with not being with him here.

But, what inspired this post was a FML I read.  Which made me realize it could always be worse.

Today, my boyfriend of four years broke up with me by writing on my bathroom mirror in Sharpie. What did he write? "Hi, I'm Emily. I'm fat, ugly, and now single." FML

That would have been a lot worse.  I know what my boy did to me, but wow.  That boy just made my boy look like a gentleman.

Until Next Time!

On Being Single

I know I talked about doing a post about being single a bit ago, and it has been longer than I intended to be.  But Better late than never.

This is what I found on #whatshouldwecallme  Here's the link to this 'comic'

But really.  Thank you Auntie.  I am indeed still single.  Thank you for pointing that out.... That was lovely.  Hopefully I'll still be single next year so I can tell you about my life as a spinster.   Unfortunately i was looking forward to not being a spinster this holiday season.  Alas.  Plans never work out.

Here is another one from #whatshouldwecallme  The Link!

Merry Christmas Indeed.  Thankfully my cousins are not actually dating anyone.  And not all of my friends have a boyfriend.  So that isn't so much the case.  But when you're in situations like that it is absolutely terrible.  Maybe you can relate.  Maybe you can't.

Though, quotediary.me is where it is really from.

This states it very well.  There are pro's and con's to being single.  as is being taken.  Though at the moment, I do wish I was taken.  Taken is fun.  Taken means you're not alone.

And I mean, there is always this:

Hopefully this feeling comes to you soon.  As I hope that it will be coming to me very soon.  :)
